Agile Test Wrangler

We are looking for Agile Test Wranglers who wake up every morning looking for new ways to build quality into our product. How many of the following items describe you?

  • You fully subscribe to the Agile Manifesto and all of its principles.
  • You have over two years of hands-on experience applying one or more agile methodologies on real world projects.
  • You are challenged by working in a team where everyone is better than you.
  • You just love to write tests of all flavors. Performance tests, concurrency tests, user interface tests, functional tests, system tests, web tests, database tests, etc. Yes, we really mean you love applying the craft of testing as much as we do!
  • You enjoy the creative process of product development with a team of like-minded individuals who are passionate about developing successful, cutting-edge products.
  • You know how, when, and why to use a variety of testing tools and programming languages to automate various aspects of your testing.
  • You may have been accused of taking the idea of being "test-infected" way too far as a developer or tester by one or more people who were, ahem, less-than-fully infected.
  • You posses and value a strong work ethic, integrity, and honesty.
  • Your default mode of working is to apply a strong attention to detail, while constantly asking for feedback to know when enough detail has been applied.
  • You can back up your claims and demonstrate your skills to a team of your peers.

If you can honestly answer a resounding YES! To all of the above statements, then we'd very much like to speak with you because what were doing at Semantra will most likely have great interest for you. A word of caution: we are creating an environment that is cutting edge in almost every possible way. We're geared for success and expect all team members to contribute to our fun, challenging, and passionate company.

We are looking for smart, energetic, highly-motivated and self-driven people to help us build and ship the next generation of our product. As a member of our team, you will be using state-of-the-art technologies and the latest trends in modern software development. You will work with team members to raise any issues with feature design, determine proper testing needs for ongoing releases, write and automate detailed tests for thorough coverage to ensure defects are identified as early as possible in the development cycle.

A Day in the Life:

Collaborate with management and development teams to understand customer requirements, design and technical details of feature areas, feature and performance test planning, design and implementation of frameworks and test workloads; measuring and tracking key reliability, scalability and performance metrics, diagnosing and debugging failures uncovered during testing.

Own and enhance our automated test framework that is currently used in the testing of our product. Think of all the possible ways a product could fail and build automation to support those tests in a creative manner.
